Dear Readers,
Sustainability plays an important role in products by Plasser & Theurer. We are currently experiencing a rapidly growing demand for our E³ machines. This was hardly foreseeable when we started developing them ten years ago. I am delighted that we are able to support our customers with future-proof track construction and maintenance machines for all areas of infrastructure which could not be more diverse in their requirements. This is how we contribute significantly to the capacity increases that the most environmentally friendly traffic and transport system needs.
Let me give you a few examples: Scandinavian countries such as Norway – a pioneer in climate protection – are investing in the globally unique E³ technology for track and turnout maintenance.
Our E³ machines are cutting edge both in traditional railway operations and in the rapidly growing public transport sector. Recently, we were awarded the contract for two compact tamping machines for the Paris Métro. This is an important step towards a climate-friendly future.
Another outstanding order, which we received from our long-standing and loyal customer TRC Taiwan Railway Corporation, comprises a complete fleet renewal. Our new Plasser CompactFlex 4x4 will meet the increasing demands to their complete satisfaction for decades to come. One of these latest compact tamping machines will be exhibited at the outdoor exhibition grounds at InnoTrans.
Further, heavy-haul operating companies such as Rumo Logística in Brazil also rely on Plasser & Theurer technology. They are adding our powerful and flexible tamping technology to their fleet. You can find more on this topic in the magazine. I hope you enjoy reading this issue of today.
Yours sincerely,
Thomas Schöpf
