Quieter rails for Denmark thanks to the Plasser ATMO

The Plasser ATMO (Automatic Track Machine Oscillator) rail grinding trailer has been specially developed for urban tramway networks. It combines the sliding grinding method and the oscillating grinding method. The Plasser ATMO completed its first practical assignment in Denmark extremely successfully. Plasser & Theurer handed over new MTW 100.216 motor tower cars to EUROPTEN during a small ceremony. On track to become service champion

About a year ago, Plasser Robel Services (PRS) was founded in order to pool the service competencies of Plasser & Theurer and Robel in Germany. This marked the launch of the largest service organization within the Plasser & Theurer group of companies. We asked CEO Karl Oberreiter for an interview to talk about the current situation in PRS.

How to increase capacity and availability?

The 24th International Convention of the Working Committee on Railway Technology of the Austrian Society for Traffic and Transport Science (ÖVG) placed the focus on technology, efficiency, environment, and future experts. Participants from all over the world attended the programme. Presentations from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the USA, India, and Mexico highlighted marked contrasts in the diversity of the rail.

Green track construction

On 7th February 2023, the "Green track construction" symposium was hosted at the Tagungswerk Berlin convention centre by the Zukunftsinitiative Bahnbau, a collaboration initiative for the future of railway construction. The initiative was started in 2019 with the aim of intensifying the cooperation between DB and the construction sector as well as planners. It is dedicated to a continuous dialogue within the industry.
