Dear Readers,

I had actually hoped that you would receive this issue of today at Innotrans 2020, but, unfortunately, COVID 19 got in the way. This global pandemic has really put things into perspective, and it has shown, once again, that personal health is the top priority. I sincerely hope that you and your families get through this crisis well and in good health.

In mid-March, the world found itself in a state of shock. As a company, we reacted as quickly as possible to secure the health of our employees while still keeping the company running as well as possible. We were able to do this by implementing a combination of short-time working, shift work, and remote work.

Despite the terrible effects of this crisis, the outlook for the railway system continues to be positive. Investments in the railway industry are economically and ecologically necessary to overcome the challenges that society is currently facing.

In summary: „The railway will continue on.” These words are not mine, but those of my Grandfather, Josef Theurer, the founder of the company, to whom we sadly had to say goodbye to in March.

I wish you and your loved ones good health, and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Yours sincerely,

Johannes Max-Theurer

Chief Executive Officer, Plasser & Theurer
