SmartALC – Increases in efficiency thanks to smart technology

The SmartALC guiding computer is the heart of the computer-aided track geometry production for tamping machines. The integration of the Spot Tamping method for spot fault repair and diverse new features add to its field of application. This allows all forms of operation – from optimising spot fault repair to large BIM projects.

Additional features

  • AutoSync function
    Using AutoSync, the machine locates faults in the track in an automated process. For the first time, tamping machines can be feed directly with track geometry data from external sources (e.g. the EM100VT).  

    Benefit: Locating faults accurately allows efficiency increases of up to 60 %.


  • NEW  Overlift function
    Using overlift functions, the system automatically detects short-wave hollows in the track and carries out a controlled overlift in the respective sections.

    Benefit: Controlled overlifting increases the track geometry’s durability

    The intuitive operation of the system, optimised for the operation via a touch screen, is setting new standards in user-friendliness: SmartALC Touch.1)
