Multipurpose tool for Segeco

On 4 April 2017, Segeco srl, a track maintenance contractor from the north of Italy, was presented with the first Unimat Combi 08-275. Two further machines of this model will follow in 2018.

Founded in 1929 by Giovanni Semenzato, Segeco is still run by the Semenzato family. Today, the third generation, the brothers Federico and Eugenio, head the company. Segeco employs around 110 people and operates its own maintenance workshop.

50 years of partnership

As early as in 1967, Segeco ordered the first Plasser & Theurer machine. Today, the company owns an extensive machine fleet, consisting of high-quality ballast cleaning machines, tamping machines, ballast distributing and profiling machines, and welding machines – all manufactured in Plasser & Theurer’s Linz factory. With the Unimat Combi 08-275, a modern multipurpose tool was now added to the strong machine fleet.

The Unimat Combi 08-275 is a cyclic action 1-sleeper levelling, lifting, lining and tamping machine for tracks and turnouts, fitted with 3-rail lifting and a sweeper trailer. The machine can be used for tamping works on both high-speed lines and secondary lines.

Handover ceremony in Venice

The first Unimat Combi 08-275 was officially handed over to Segeco srl in the shunting yard in Cervignano del Friuli. The handover ceremony was held in Venice, where the CEOs of Plasser & Theurer welcomed the company owners of the Semenzato family.
